Our stay at Kartause Ittingen was simply delightful. The modern rooms with a monastic touch were clean and inviting. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful green surroundings, perfect for hiking and cycling. The dairy on the grounds offers a variety of delicious cheeses and dairy products to taste.The onsite restaurant, Restaurant Mühle, serves up local cuisine that is both creative and delicious. We savored every bite of our meals, knowing many ingredients were locally sourced. The availability of complimentary bicycles allowed us to explore the expansive gardens and parks, adding to the overall charm of the place.Although our stay was brief, we were able to relax on our terrace with a glass of wine and soak in the serene ambiance. The staff's thoughtful touches, like providing flashlights and umbrellas, added to our comfortable experience. We regret not having more time to explore the region, as there were tours and hikes available that we would have enjoyed.Kartause Ittingen is a unique gem that offers a blend of modern comfort within historic walls. I highly recommend it for those seeking a peaceful retreat with a touch of local charm.
